You’re Not a Monkey! Eat Fancy Pasta!
Package Design
Design multi-package media for a pasta layout for Barilla. Three different types of pasta need to be included; and an additional sauce jar. ‘Fancy Pasta’ was made using primate animals that are commonly mistaken to be monkeys using the catchphrase, “ You’re not a monkey, eat fancy pasta!”. Allows for bright color usage, exciting character design, and more. Packaging was meant also to be reusable and minimize waste and over packaging. Using the simple milk carton allows for easy delivery and packaging. And
minimum waste.
The overall project was a success and a great learning experience when it comes to packaging design and die-line prints. The final layout designs while some sides continued to keep a left alignment with a frame in the center containing either ingredients or how to cook the pasta. They were also to have the sides filled with the color of the specific pasta’s brush strokes. This created a dynamic design having the front and back keep the charming cardboard with the sides washed in the character’s main color. The back was simple, not requiring much design or instruction. The front was more centered and the type
of pasta was enlarged.
